Success Stories & Testimonials

The following testimonials pale in comparison to the clients' appreciation through their own mouths. We would be happy to let them tell you how satisfied they truly are.

I put on 17 kg for my second pregnancy.  Although I lost 10 kg in the 1st week, the remaining 7 kg persisted for the next 9 weeks.  That was when I decided to take action.  In just 5 weeks (including CNY celebrations and feasting) with Paul (BTPpostnatal), I had lost 4 kg and 3 inches off my waist.  Most importantly, Paul helped me kickstart a healthy eating and exercise programme that is sustainable, realistic and achievable. Thanks a lot, Paul!",

I have been battling with my weight since my early teens. The most drastic weight loss attempt was in 2003 where I lost a total of 24kg through diet and exercise. However I was hardly eating anything and was exercising vigorously. The result of which was extreme mood swings, weakness and misery that not only affected me but my loved ones as well. The weight loss was maintained for less than a year and it crept back on again.

In May 2008, I chanced upon the website of Fitness Tutor and approached Paul to help me lose weight for my wedding (Body-Transformation-Program for Brides). I wanted a "healthier" (both for the body and the mind) weight loss process. It was a breeze … truly … to lose the 14 kg. I had training sessions with Paul once a week for the first few months and twice a week in the last 2 months to my wedding. Other than that, I hardly exercised on my own although I could have achieved better results had I done my own cardio as advised by Paul. The best part is that I never had to go hungry and I could eat almost everything I wanted.

I have in the past trained under 3 other trainers but none could provide the professionalism and results like Paul. Even my family and friends have noticed a difference … that I was a happier person training under Paul … without the misery of hunger and with only minimal exercise.

I am writing this testimonial not only to express my gratitude towards Paul but hopefully can save someone the time and energy of finding an effective and professional trainer.

The following is an abstract from a client's personal diary:

Initail phase of training:  "If i didn't have the encouragement of my PT (Paul Kuck) and hubby, i would have gone south.... straight back to binging and not exercising and lamenting how i am meant to remain fat and unsightly. ...the next morning was my personal training session, i shared my thoughts with my trainer about how i feel like this weight battle is getting tough and demoralising, this weight gain over a 2 days binge was such a mental setback. We spoke about it and i felt much more encouraged.

My PT has this very special way of making people like me feel very comfortable about themselves and their bodies, its always my aim to find a PT that can put me at ease and focus on my weight lost. I am glad I found one. I had a good workout and Lord and behold, i felt rejuvenated again. Yes, my confidence has definitely been shaken a bit due to the weight gain, but i am still on track... not completely off tangent as it could have been".

I’ve always been of slight built and weight gain has never been an issue. In fact, it’s been a problem and that’s why I sought help from Paul at Fitness Tutor. I didn’t have problems with cardio, but I wanted to see how I could add a little more muscle mass and definition. The training worked and I enjoyed seeing more of me as the sessions progressed. Thanks Paul for the coaching and for being so accommodating to my erratic work schedule. Thanks for getting me started. Now it’s all sheer discipline to keep at it!

I first consulted Paul Kuck regarding my fitness improvement in March 07 and was advised by him that thru proper weight training routine and diet i can make huge differences to my body and fitness level. Back then i weigh about 69kg and looked pale and i fell sick all the time due to poor immune system as well. After taking up the this alpha male course, he have made drastic changes to my appearances as well as my overall fitness level. Not only that, the past injuries and pain i used to get in my shoulders when i trained myself with the machines and exercises have miraculously disappeared after training with Paul.

Weighing at 76kg now friends and family have been telling me on how rugged and fitter i look now. I can finally have the confidence to wear tighter clothes and walk with pride with  my newly developed body. If not thru this course i would not have the body that i have always desire. Paul is a professional trainer unlike that of other commercial gym and i would highly recommend his valued services to those who have the desire to improve their fitness level.

I have known Paul for more than 15 years and he still holds the same, if not more, deep level of passion for fitness. He is always thirsty for knowledge (what more does he need to know is a mystery), and comes out with the most innovative training methods that will definitely work. Being a former competitive bodybuilder myself, I know a lot about exercise and nutrition myself, so I can easily separate what is fake and what is real. Paul is not only real, he is the Real Guru of Fitness.

Paul became my trainer to help me lose weight I had gained after I had injured my knee (ruptured Patella Tendon) few months ago, to improve on my fitness for my sport, and to reduce the pain in the knee. After several weeks of specialised training under Paul, I had lost a few kgs and the pain in my knee is almost non-existent. On top of that, I have developed greater power and accuracy in my strokes, better endurance, flexibility and balance.

I knew Paul since he was engaged as a gym consultant and then employed as chief fitness trainer by the National University of Singapore Society's Guild House. I have had the opportunity to observe Paul's work closely for several years. Paul is completely professional in his competence and attitude. He is knowledgeable in all respects“ from gym design, to equipment maintenance, to personal training, to gym administration.

What perhaps is even more striking is Paul's absolute commitment and dedication to his work. He designed and ran the Guild House gym conscientiously and fairly, with an attention to safety and detail, and without cutting any corners. He is always friendly and helpful in the way he relates to gym users – straightforward but never imposing or offensive. He is soft spoken, but firm when the situation calls for it.

It was with some sadness when I learnt of his decision to move on in his career. It will be difficult to find someone else like Paul. I recommend him most highly for any project related to personal training, gym administration and the fitness industry.

I shall be very happy to answer any queries about Paul.

I had developed shoulder impingement pain since my army days and have not been able to get rid of it. I had tried various methods but nothing seems to work. After meeting and discussing with Paul on a program to help me regain my fitness and fix the pain, we started training. He showed me a some unique strengthening exercises (which I had never done before as I was always using machines when I was training with my ex personal trainer, which apparently weren't helpful) and magically, the pain went away within days.

Paul Kuck  became my personal mentor a few months after I qualified as a Personal Trainer.  Paul taught me many exercises I’d never encountered before and emphasised different training methods and how to design a variety of programmes to suit client’s individual goals.  His professionalism and extensive knowledge allowed me to question him on a variety of topics such as marketing, sales, business card design, nutrition and supplementation, to name just a few.

I would highly recommend Paul not only as a personal Trainer to any-one looking to achieve their fitness goals, but also as a mentor for those looking to excel in the fitness industry.

This was on a recent NKE workshop conducted by Paul on 27th May 07. It was well-attended by a group of serious trainers and fitness enthusiasts which included people like: Courtney Hadden, a US based fitness author and ACE certified Personal Trainer, Group Instructor and Lifestyle & Weight Management Consultant; and Siew Kin, well known media figure among the celebrities, who wrote the following:

Natural Kinetics Exercise (NKE) is a complete new concept to me until I attended the 6 hours course conducted by Paul, a renown exercise expert in the local fitness industry.

The lesson was an eyes opener to me, new concepts, new techniques and most importantly, it is a well rounded, execute whole body muscle, strength and endurance exercise, even cardiorespiratory system are being addressed. I would say, it is a fun but strength taxing exercise. During the lesson, we have a hands on experience, have a feel of the exercise, and oh my god, only 3 exercise with 20 reps and less than the usual weight i can handle, landed me with muscle soreness till the next day. But i am extremely happy with the immediate result.

I have faith in NKE and Paul, strongly believed that this will create a revolution in the  commercial fitness industry which no longer takes the safety of clients into considerations, as Personal Trainers are more eager to close training deals rather than take note on how the clients physiological responses towards exercise.

Unlike other fitness courses, Paul as a lecturer exhibits professionalism in departing the knowledge of NKE, no nonsense, clear instructions and demonstrations were given, leaving no doubts uncleared.

I tried NKE the next day, muscle sore till today, even though the weight used is only 10 pounds. NKE is about pure strength which dumbbells cannot delivered.

Last but not least, I would highly recommend celebrities in the entertainment industry to engage in NKE.

This letter is a reference letter for Patrick Foo in his capacity as a personal trainer at Legends Fort Canning Gym. I have engaged Patrick as my personal trainer since Feb 2004 and am still training under him to date.

Besides meeting the basic selection criteria of having the necessary credentials and experience to be my personal trainer, Patrick has demonstrated the following attributes:

  1.   treats his clients as long term accounts -  this is reflected in the consultation style and approach he takes with managing his client relationships

  2. good interpersonal skills - during training, Patrick is always actively listening and his responses are always considered and appropriate

  3. willing to do research and ability to apply - Patrick has demonstrated that he's willing to research new areas and capable of applying/adapting his knowledge to develop a training program that is suitable for my needs

  4. develop trust in his clients - Patrick has demonstrated that he has my interest and safety in mind when training me and I trust him implicitly when we train

I have set out to achieve the long term benefit of good health from the training with Patrick but have surprising achieved several benefits in a relatively shorter time.

The benefits I have obtained since training under Patrick are:

  • a significant positive reconfiguration of my body composition e.g. started with 28% body fat and am currently down to 16.2%

  •   a more manageable weight from 82.5 kg to 77 kg

  • my blood test shows that my gout problem is no longer a problem and a significant positive trend for my cholesterol level

  • confident that with Patrick's guidance I can achieve my short term goal to complete my first Triathlon on 3rd July 2005 safely

I am pleased with Patrick's performance and would highly recommend him as a personal trainer. I have also referred my wife to Patrick and she is also enjoying the benefits of his training.

Patrick was introduced to me in June/July this year when I moved to Singapore for my employment as Regional General Manager for Burger King Asia Pacific. He was referred to me as a great Personal Trainer who could cause the right amount of pain as I continued to improve my fitness. How wrong this recommendation turned out to be!

I am 57 years of age and have had a number of sports injuries. I have worked out regularly for about 13 years. When I arrived in Singapore I had had a recent operation on my knee, had a sore right shoulder that would not allow me to swim for more than about 25 meters and wanted to restart playing golf after an absence of about 2.5 years of regular play.

I commenced a programme with Patrick to work on my overall physical health.

What impressed me about Patrick was the depth that he went to, to understand my body and interests and devise a programme to build my strength and remedy the injury to my knee. He always asked about the input from my physiotherapist and would adjust programmes to suit my treatment I was receiving. He had amazing knowledge about physiology.

The results of the programme over these last 6 months have been outstanding:

  • My body shape has changed without undue bulking up.
  • I have been able to commence swimming again and can now swim 1 km (40 laps of the apartment pool) including 30 laps of freestyle.
  • My core strength has improved to assist my golf swing.
  • My knee strength has improved so I can play golf and walk the course without pain for the first time since the operation.

I was so impressed with Patrick, that I was able to convince my wife (who does not particularly like gyms) to commence a programme.

I mentioned to someone the other day that what I will miss most about leaving Singapore (my assignment has come to an end and I am returning to Australia) is Patrick and my fitness programme he devised and we worked on. I have asked Patrick to consult with my PT in Australia to continue the amazing work he did for me here.

I have the highest regard for Patrick's capability and would recommend him to anyone.

I started training with Patrick Foo at The Legends Fort Canning Park gym from October 2003. Each training session lasts around 1 hour to 1.5 hours once a week.

My goal was to reduce my weight from 88 kg to 75 kg. With Patrick's training and a sensible diet plan, I was able to reduce my weight to 80 kg within 10 weeks of training with him. This would not be possible without my training sessions with Patrick.

Patrick is a polite and conscious instructor, always placing safety and safe training as a priority. He is very knowledgeable in regards to training methods and techniques to achieve the best results. He provides an environment where I can be myself and train to the best of my ability. The most important part of training is to provide motivation and give the necessary push to train that little bit harder. This is one thing that Patrick can do with friendliness and care.

Patrick has been the one who has helped me work towards attaining my goals, providing motivation and support. I am sure he can help anyone attain their goals too.

To Whom It May Concern:

Testimonial for Hazli Ansar

I was first introduced to Hazli and got to know him when I signed up for personal fitness training at the gym in May 2005.  At the time I was just your typical ‘weekend recreational jogger’ and proper fitness training was very new to me.  My runs were at most 3km, mainly because that was good enough to train for my IPPT!  But I was keen to do more and realized that it would be best to seek professional help on training to improve my overall fitness.

I was very happy to receive that help and education on fitness training from Hazli.   He had tailored for me a very thorough and balanced personal training program that enabled me to go on and achieve my goals, taking part in events like the Standard Chartered Marathon which I completed the 10km run in 2005, and later the 21km run in 2006.  Additionally, I have also taken part in events like the 10km Big Walk and 10km Real Run in 2006.   Apart from my own efforts, I would attribute these achievements over the short period of time to the excellent training that I have received.

In the many training sessions I have had, Hazli has thought me the right methods on how to mix cardio, resistance and weights into my workout routines.  I also appreciate his emphasis on training safety and to execute exercises with the proper techniques to get the most benefit and prevent any injury.   Beyond the physical aspects of training, his positive attitude, and encouraging nature has also been a great motivation for me to keep pushing on when the going gets tough.  At the same time he is also sensitive enough to understand and know the limits of my strength and that gives me great confidence during training.

I have learnt much and feel that I have greatly benefited from his instruction.  After my first training program had ended, I singed up for another program and continue to train with Hazli until today.  His friendly personality, clear instructions and good understanding of individual needs make training enjoyable.  I would strongly recommend him as a personal trainer to anyone who is interested in improving their fitness.

I know Patrick as a fitness instructor and personal trainer at Fitness Network located at Science Park

Before that, I have been a member of Fitness Network for close to two years, and have been a frequent gym-goer. Like most girls, my workout program includes no more than just jogging on the thread-mill, using the stepper and the cross-trainer machine. Weights training was usually minimal because like most girls, I had the mis-conception that weights training will make me bulkier, and thus the tendency to avoid it.

Patrick was, at that time, not assigned as my fitness instructor. Yet he took the initiative and patience to instil the right concept about weights training into me, and encourage me to include weights training in my fitness program to achieve my target of a more well-toned physique. His professionalism and his in-depth knowledge about fitness prompted me to take on his advice. He became my instructor and planned a series of exercises to help me achieve my workout objective. He exercised great patience in guiding me through the exercises to ensure that they were done properly and safely so as to achieve the best results. He was also very motivating, giving a lot of encouragement that I especially appreciated during the initial stage of the workout. Another strong point of him which I think is highly commendable, is that he is well-versed in formulating a variety of exercises for each muscle group. This has helped to make my workout more interesting as I am able to switch between different workout program.

Besides his professionalism and knowledge in fitness, Patrick has the additional edge in that he is sociable and is thus able to establish personal touch with his members. This has helped him in knowing them better, especially in terms of their workout objective, and hence able to plan more effective training programs for them.

In just three months, I saw myself becoming more well-toned than ever before in the past two years. I'm now more confident in my physique, and I'm really grateful to Patrick for his great workout program. I would highly recommend him as a personal trainer who is capable of helping his clients achieve the desired level of fitness.

To Whom It May Concern

Hazli Ansar is my personal trainer since July 2006. He is very friendly, attentive and approachable and is very passionate and dedicated to his job. He pays special attention to clients who had injuries and would make it a point to find out more about it and ways to help his clients regain fitness. He is also knowledgeable in his field and is most willing to give advice to anyone who needs help.

I can confidently recommend his services to anyone as he is an expert in his field.

I have known Hazli since I first joined the gym at the Kent Ridge Guild House, in early 2003. When I first began going to the gym, Hazli was one of the friendliest and most helpful instructors, always keeping an eye out for us and making sure that we did our exercises properly to avoid injury. He has also been a personal trainer for me on three separate five-week periods. Each time I was impressed by the care he put into designing a program that fit my goals and constraints. As a trainer he is knowledgeable, always mindful of injuries, and a very effective motivator. Each time I have managed to see results at the end of the five-week period. Another quality that I liked about Hazli's style is his pragmatic approach to achieving one's goals - it helped that the steps I had to follow were ones that I felt I could keep to rather than being ambitious but unachievable.

As a person Hazli is friendly, likeable and caring. This is obvious from the way other gym members react to him. I know also that he is extremely motivated and constantly pushing to improve himself and his skills (voluntarily studying for courses, for example). It is a pleasure to provide this reference for Hazli. I am sure others who know him will agree with all that I have said here.

Best wishes

I have been working out and training in the gym under Hazli Ansar's guidance for more than three years and it is because of his encouragement and instruction that I have been able to increase my overall level of fitness, work towards a healthy weight and gain greater strength and flexibility. Hazli is a great trainer because his approach is the ideal combination of inspiration, encouragement and constant challenges. He consistently changes the workouts he recommends so that I have continued to improve, while also making sure that the exercise never gets boring or too familiar. What I also appreciate is that he doesn't only emphasize weight-loss but instead is committed to long-term, overall health and fitness. In addition to focusing on exercise, he is also very aware of related issues like diet and lifestyle, and will also offer advice and encouragement on these matters. It is to Hazli's credit that I continue to go to the gym 5 days a week and strive to maintain both a healthy lifestyle and level of health and fitness.

When my husband (Dr Benjamin Tham) proudly flaunt off his six pack, I decided that I better try to lose my mid thirties bulge too before I am mistaken as his elder sister. Exercise has never been new to me and I was quite sure that with little discipline I will be as trim again. As I chart my progress, I was more discouraged as my progress was snail slow compared to the previous three years. blame it on the metabolic rate, I tried to vary my exercise routines, step aerobics, kickboxing, pilates, gyrokinesis, yoga, tried everything with little progress. As a working mum, time was not on my side and I finally have to entertain the thought of a personal trainer which was what my husband has been advocating.

It was then that I realized that his six packs were achieved with a personal trainer and not by sheer discipline! We always believed in the importance of a good teacher and I asked him whether his teacher will teach "auntie" like me. I am glad Paul was willing to take such an unfit student as I have always associated personal trainers with athletes.

With a low fitness level, I was prepared to be humiliated but with Paul's individualized programme, I felt that weight training are not impossible and I felt good after each session. With an open mind, I took his dietary and training advise and within 20 sessions, without much tears and effect training, I was able to change my entire wardrobe like my husband.

Paul, what is your secret recipe for weight loss?

Dr Lim Jen Pei
Medical Doctor, Hougang Polyclinic

(Note: At the start of programme: Dr Lin started at over 30% body fat, putting her at 'obese' category. A few weeks into the program, her bodyfat came down to '28%, 'accpetable' category. After 20 sessions, it further reduced to 22%, under the 'Fitness' category.

Her progress is very consistent and this success is attributed to the fact that she followed our 'eat-on-demand' nutritional plan and 'simple exercises for homework' advises very closely.)

Hi everyone, it’s been more than half a year since I started training with Paul. During a recent up with my doctor, he was very impress with my recovery just after 1 year. He told me that my initial condition was very bad. Even if I was to survive the stroke, I could have been a vegetable for the rest of my life.

As a stroke survivor, exercise has done much for me. I have already lost 25kg and the weight has been stable for the past few months. I have recover most of my strength back. Usual functions and mobility are as good as before. Exercise has also reduced the risk factors for another attack. My blood pressure and diabetes are now control at the normal range. Cholesterols are also down. Now it is even lower than normal.

Exercise is one of the best medicines for chronic illnesses. Most people may think that by moving most of our body parts means doing exercise. However there is much more to this. Proper exercises need good knowledge on fitness training. Getting a certify exercise specialist to help us achieve what we want is important. As a trained fitness professional, he will be able to guide and motivate us. Minimum time for maximum result.

If you are a person with chronic illness, taking medicine that the doctors prescribe may not be enough to help you recover. Take note of the benefits what exercise can offer. In other countries, people have gradually taking up exercise as a form of recovery to most illnesses.

Paul has been a really great trainer and inspiration.

Thank you Paul.

Ever since Paul Kuck encouraged me to start out on gym exercises,  I realised how important it is to do regular gym workouts.  It helps to keep the muscles toned and flexible besides keeping me fit and healthy.  This allows me to continue coaching and playing tennis all these years injury free.  Most of the people I meet think I look much younger and fitter than my actual age.  I must admit, I feel really fit, healthy and good.  All thanks to tennis, my gym workouts and Paul.

There is so much nutritional and exercise advice out there that one can get easily confused, side-tracked or even led up the wrong path.  I’ve realized after many years of reading and experimenting with fitness and diet programmes that much of this “advice” is pretty half-baked.  Paul is among the few fitness professionals I’ve come across who can give you the kind of 360 degree counsel backed by solid academic credentials, practical experience, and a sincere passion for what he’s doing. His workshop is informative and interactive - and may well make you realize that the reason you’re not seeing results despite going to the gym three times a week is because you’re not exercising hard enough!

I've been toying with the idea to lose weight and keep fit through professional gym instructions for years.  Despite my so-call intermitently regular work-out at gyms, I never seems to be able to lose weight.   The final motivation for the search was due to my impending wedding!  And I came across Fitness Tutor. I called Paul and started a program (BTPbrides) with him without any hesitation.

As I had less than 6 mths from my wedding date, I had to work on an intensive schedule - thrice a week.  It was quite tough initially.  Luckily, Paul is very patient and kept on encouraging me.  Within weeks of training, I felt energized (which is also one of the key reasons I chose gym instruction over slimming salon or pills) and my clothes started to get loose. Even staff from my bridal studio noticed a signicifant loss of weight in me and had to alter my gown.

Besides losing weight, I also gained muscle which gave me better definition when I wore clothes. More importantly, I felt energised after exercising which I think is very important for busy working people like us.  And with professional instruction, you will have someone to push you towards your desired goal and no chance to procrastinate.  Previously, I always have thousand and one excuse for not exercising.

Thank you, Paul!

For a very busy working professional with irregular erratic training schedule, I can only find limited time to train with Paul (BTPexecutives) Nevertheless, Paul identifies my personal needs and then does on to develop and customize training exercise program to suit my individual requirements and goals. He leaves training instructions so that I can do it on my own when I can find time between my sessions with him. This ensures minimal lapse in my quest for a healthier body.

Despite the limited training apparatus at my workplace gym, Paul manages to put together a very satisfactory work-out curriculum base on the available equipment. Within the constrained environment, he devises exercises for the various specific muscle groups which I could never imagine possible.

Paul systematically guides and motivates me to achieve my peak fitness potential. The objectives are reviewed periodically and adjustments made to achieve that target. Professional advice is given not only on the physical training but he also fine-tune my nutritional intake (and dispel diet myths) to help achieve greater progress.

I can perceive significant improvement in my cardiovascular and muscular endurance within a period of 2 months. I have shed a few inches off my waistline without medicinal aid. My physique is more defined and I would count the evolving six-pack as my greatest fulfillment.

I trust Paul to further enhance my physical fitness and would highly recommend him to my friends and colleagues, and especially busy professionals who need a flexible program to achieve maximum gain within limited time.

When I was young I was plump. Friends and cousins used to laugh at me and called me by nicknames. I was hurt and started to control my diet when I was in Primary 4. That may explain why I did not have a good body structure as I believe I did not have proper nutrition during my puberty age.

I have a pear shape figure with a smaller frame on my upper body compared to my lower. I also hate my tummy and tend to store fats on the lower part of the tummy.

I also got many hurtful remarks from my ex-classmates and even ex-husband on my appearance and figure. I have a very low self-esteem. I am ashamed of my body. I don’t even undress in front of a woman.

I have been training very hard in the gym for the past 3 years. I lead a boring lifestyle that normal people cannot stand. I get up at 4:30am in the morning to go to gym and in bed by 10:30pm. I do not have any social life at night as I have to get up early to be in gym every day. I spend long hours in the gym even on weekends. At a stage, I had a phobia of going to the gym. I had nightmares and wanted to run away when I was there. I  follow a stringent diet that claims to be ‘healthy’ in my context. One that is oil free (as far as possible), low fat etc.

I also read up many books on bodybuilding and fitness. I have become obsessed and yes I am a fitness fanatic!

I wanted badly to become the pretty wife in my ex-husband’s heart. I hope to improve my self-confidence by having a good figure. I hope to look more muscular and tone on my upper body while reducing inches on my tummy and thighs. I often look at the ladies with hourly glass figure with great envy.

I had trained with 4 other professional trainers from a popular club and even signed up more than 20 sessions with a couple of them. All of them promised me that they could help me to achieve my goals but I was disappointed. I don’t trust PT anymore, though I still respect the trainers and some of them are my very good friends.

With all the efforts, sacrifices and time that I have put in, I still could not achieve my goal. Can you imagine the state I was in (stressed, frustrated and drained from all the dieting and long hours in the gym)? But that did not discourage me to give up! I realize I needed someone, an expert to advise me on what went wrong to my workout routine. I do not need a personal trainer to motivate me (as I am more actuated than most people) or teach me how to perform the machine or weights correctly (as I do not consider myself a novice).

I surf the net in the hope of finding a fitness guru who has the answer to my goal and that was when I chanced on Paul Kuck's Fitness Tutor website. I am very impressed by Paul’s achievement and profile and the great testimonials of his clients. So I decided to call him for an appointment. He was very friendly over the phone. I sent him my workout profile and diet dairy before our consultation. He sent me sms asking me several questions to determine my objectives and understand the underlying reasons for my crazy passion in gym.

On the first meeting, Paul did not disappoint me. He is a very pleasant person and I enjoyed the two hour long consultation. He was very attentive and tried to convince me that I had been overtraining. He made me realize that I have been using weight training to sport reduce my problematic areas like tummy and thighs. I used to spend 45 mins on abs and 2 hours on leg exercises (both twice a week) hoping to get a flat tummy and slim legs! He is not pushy, but rather soft-spoken and extremely patient in correcting my stubborn thinking.

He seems to understand me very well and assures me that he is also a fitness fanatic like me. He demonstrates tremendous passion in all aspects of fitness and we got so much to talk that the two-hour of consultation seems to be so short.

I am also really proud that he is a full proof 100% drug free body builder. He does not adopt fitness fads or gimmicks and is strongly against the use of steroids and drugs.

After the consultation, I made some changes to my workout routine.  Before the change, I was weighing 47.3 kg with a body fat % of 21.3% and now I am weighing 47.9 kg of 18.7% body fat! Why is there an increase in weight with a reduction in body fat? They are muscle mass gain!!

I caught me by surprise when the first lady gym member came forward to ask what I have done as I look slimmer and toner. Subsequently I have friends and gym members who made positive comments on my figure! I cried but it was tears of joy and gratefulness. I have finally seen some improvements and received positive feedback after all these years of efforts and negative remarks that I have been getting on my appearance. I become a more confidence person now.  I have given Paul’s contact and website address to those who asked me for my so-called secret to my improvement. I will continue and will not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who has any concerns in fitness or wellness as I truly believe he is the right person who can really help. Paul, please rest assured that I will have a next session with you if I have any doubts on fitness or reached a plateau on my training.

From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank Paul for his absolute unswerving commitment to his clients. He is not only a mentor to me but has also become my very good friend. He is also my fitness idol and will continue to be one so long my passion for gym, for fitness continues. I will persist to work towards my goal and I wish Paul great success in his career!

Thank you!

A couple of months ago, I signed for BTPbrides programme in hope to lose some weight and look good in my wedding dress during my wedding photo shoot session. But I was mentally prepared not to achieve much except (I had tried nearly all ways to lose weight before but all with very limited success) for some improvements in my fitness. But how wrong was I!

When I first met Paul Kuck  for the initial consultation, he told me to forget about everyting else, to commit and concentrate on this programme for the next few weeks. He assured me that I could make it so long I believe in myself, in him and the programme.

Training started a couple of days later and some improvements were shown a few weeks later - lost a few inches on my arms, legs and waist. That was just the beginning. When I went for my first gown try-out and I warned the lady that I might be losing more weight. But she replied, 'oh don't need to worry, it's unlikely to lose more than a inch through exercise, I have served so many brides before'. On the second try-out, about 3-4 weeks later, she was shocked with the amount of inches I had lost. The dress had became too loose (esp at the back and waist) and she had to do a major re-tailoring. On the third visit, she was begging me not to lose anymore as she had to keep amending the gown. I could see she was not very happy about it, but I was certainly very very happy!

I was enjoying the photo shoot session throughout as I was very confident. The photos turned out to be really good and I couldn't wait to show up during the wedding day itself!

The whole programme was definately a huge success for me and it shows that Paul and his other trainers (I saw smiliar results in clients who were training with them) at Fitness Tutor are truly good at what they are doing. They are truly commited to its obectives to help all its clients attain their goals.

I strongly encourage all brides who are preparing for their wedding soon to sign up for the same programme as this is the best and fastest solution there is.

I started training under Paul in January 2006 with the three objectives in mind.(a) losing body fat; (b) increasing muscle mass; (c) feeling more fit and less lethargic.  For many years, I had been either too busy or too unmotivated to start a physical exercise program on my own.  When I did manage to work under personal trainers at Plxxxx Fitness few years back, the results were insignificant or disappointing.  It finally came to a point when I decided to take action of my state of obesity – 97kg and 34% of body fat and bursting the limits of normal healthy BMI. I was 32 years old, but looked like I had a pot-belly of a 42 year old man and having a fitness level worse than a 52 year old.   After searching the internet for a suitable personal training program, I was glad to come across Fitness-tutor’s website and was convinced it was the solution to solving the state of my terrible obesity.

Paul’s BTP program is nothing short of a transformational journey.  His commitment to client’s success and results was unmatched by those trainers which I had previously engaged.   On a scale of 1 to 10, Paul scored a 15 for his absolute unwavering commitment to his client’s progress. Just under 3 months, I had lost 9.7kg of fat (-8%), gained 3.6 kg of muscle and lost 4 inches off my waist (p/s: recently I tried to wear my usual burmudas and to my huge embarrassment, it dropped when I walked out of main door! Thanks to Paul for that!).  But it was not just the results that I am lauding.  From someone who absolutely hated cardiovascular workouts, and whose daily exercise consisted a little more than walking to the office pantry and back to the cubicle, I had come to enjoy cardio routines and even got so motivated as to go the extra miles on my own.

Paul’s BTP first started with a basic conditioning program, which got me used to an exercise routine and thereafter, increases the intensity accordingly to my improving fitness levels.   Paul is truly an expert here! He knows which exercises truly work wonders and which don’t.  He’s absolutely aware of my energy levels, my preferences, and my weaker parts and knew hot to motivate me accordingly.  Each workout was intensive, stretching your limits and yet fun and motivating.  From him, I had learnt more about fitness training, about different training techniques, nutrition etc in 3 months than what I had read and done on my own for 3 years!

Paul’s training brings about a amazing transformation to one’s physique but there are side effects too! Your self-confidence, health, well-being and self-awareness also soars!   And I was wondering why I didn’t get started on the BTP years back. Thanks friend, for your help and your guidance. I will not hesitate to recommend Paul as your personal trainer.

Thanks a lot, Paul.

I am 39 years old and recently I had a stroke. Initially I was bedridden and my condition was very critical. After the rehabilitation in the hospital, I was able to walk a bit with a walking stick.

As I was recovering at home, I come across some fitness programs on Discovery Health Channel about people with illness recovering with fitness training. This has prompted me to take up personal training to help me improve my conditions.

Before the stroke, I already have diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterols and overweight. I spend most of my time on work, as much as 12 hrs a day. For meals I usually indulge in oily, fatty foods. Fast foods and deep-fried are my favorites. Through doctor advice, lifestyle change and reducing weight is the best choice to help my health conditions.

Joey Before Stroke

My goals are to be able to return back to normal as soon as possible and attain a good BMI for good health.

After discussing with Paul on providing special rehab exercise (HTPstroke), I begin my training with him. We started light exercises to condition the body first. Then we work on strengthening the limbs to get back the strength and movements. To date I have already complete 10 sessions with Paul. Paul has also made special arrangement to conduct the training in my neighborhood, as mobility is an issue then. As my conditions improve, there is plan to move the training to the gym.

With Paul's help, I get to consult a nutritionist on my diet. A meal plan was draft out on the specific foods suitable base on my medical conditions. Losing weight doesn't necessary mean to eat less or starving. Eating healthy is key to get the necessary nutrients needed to provide energy to do exercises and burn calories.

Joey In Critical Stroke Condition

The end results, I have improved from:

  • walking to jogging.

  • I am able to do 10 push-ups (standard) and climb 36 floors of stairs now (several times continously) .

  • I have lost body fat from 29% (even more before the stroke) to 24% and also gain muscles mass.

  • My blood test has also show good results. The blood glucose and blood pressure are now as good as normal. The cholesterols are also in the healthy levels especially the triglycerides have drop from 3.5 to 1.42 mmo1/L.

  • My weight before stroke was 104kg and now 82kg. My t-shirts have down size from XXL to L and jeans from 40" - 34" in waist. BMI is also closer to the healthy range. But there is still some more room for improvement and I'm going to continue the training.

  • Now I'm able to move around independently. I am also able to take public transport like buses, MRT and taxis. Able to do these is a big achievement for a stroke patient.

Recently I got a chance to attend my company’s annual D&D. After a few months on medical leave, most of my colleagues cannot even recognize me now. Most of them are still looking for the fatty bum I once was. They commended that I not only slim down but also look fitter than before. My complexion have also improves from dark to fair.

The doctor was also amazed with my recovery in such a short time (6 months). He told me that other patients with the kind of stroke that I had are still struggling with recovery or never did.

Joey After Our HTPStroke Training

I am feeling so good now and medically I am much fitter and healthier than before. The exercises I do have made so much improvement. I'm very lucky to be given a second chance in life.

People with medical background who need to lose weight should do exercises to improve health. (Please consult with doctor before starting any exercise program). Do not wait until it’s too late. Exercise is one of the best medicines you can ever find. Getting a certified trainer is also important and Paul is the best choice. He can tailor a specific training program to each individual needs.

What Is Wealth If You Don’t Have Health?

I had such wonderful time training with Paul, as he is very professional and motivating. I've started another set of training with him.

Long overdue testimonials for there are no words to describe the heartfelt gratitude I have for my fitness trainer Hazli.

It was 6 months into the New Year and my new year’s resolution to lose weight and lead a healthier lifestyle was at a standstill for I wasn’t able to lose any weight for 2 months and my morale was at an all time low. I was ready to throw the towel in but I was determined not to give into my weakness for that was what got me into the trouble I was in. I was surfing the internet looking for a fitness trainer when I chanced upon http://fitness-tutor.com.

I read a few testimonials and I was particularly interested in the Body Transformation Program that Fitness tutor was offering as it had quite a number of great reviews from some of its clients. I thought what else could I lose besides my weight by filling out the online form and that’s just what I did. Soon I was meeting up with Hazli for my first session and was having my fitness level determined. I won’t lie, it was tough but Hazli made it tolerable, in fact he made it fun, changing my aerobic routines…it wasn’t always the treadmill and thank goodness for that!!!! He also passed me a table of to help me keep a track of what I was eating… “A food journal” of some sorts. Soon I realized that there were some changes I had to make to the way I was eating so that it complimented my weight loss regime. Hazli’s motto was “I won’t force you to drastically change your diet…if you want to eat you just have to know what to do after that.”

The first few sessions the kilos weren’t exactly melting away like I expected them to but once I got into the whole regime that’s when I started to see the results. Within 8 months I went from 85 kg to 70 kg and my body fat has dropped from more than 30% to 20.8%. Now I am being encouraged by Hazli to do a 10 km marathon and if he said this to me last year I would have laughed it off thinking it’s a joke but now I am seriously contemplating of doing one for the fun of it and I am sure I will be able to cross the finishing line!!!! Thank you Hazli, for believing in me and helping me believe in myself too

Yours truly,

I have never been good with words, and I really had to ponder when I was preparing to write this, no matter… Was the first week of October, I was just walking towards my office like I always have been for the last 6 months, and suddenly someone screamed across the road and called me fatty, I was not uncomfortable with my size than, standing at 1.63cm weighing 66 kilos, but having called fatty across the street, my goodness, talk about embarrassment. It was that very day I told myself, fine, fatty no more; I started surfing the net to find the perfect solution to my problem. Having been athlete since young, I knew that there is no easy solutions to solving my problem, as the saying goes, No pain no gain, and what could be better than “sweating” it out

I quickly found the Fitness Tutor’s site, went through the testimonials and was convinced and signed up for the Body Transformation Progrm for Brides, with that I had my “first date” with my fitness guru / instructor, Hazli, on the 10th October 2005, first meeting was great, we hit off just like friends, and with that I felt more confident than ever that the choice was right. I got myself measured up and weighted.

Though the journey was never easy, and while exercising for the first 10 sessions, I was asking myself, what did I just get myself into, but honestly, at the end of 30 sessions, it was all worth the while, the results spoke for itself, I am now weighing 55 kilos, and honestly, this is the lowest my weight has ever been since secondary school.

But more importantly, my fitness guru has given me the knowledge in understanding the different food groups, and my body intake and needs, he has also help me change my outlook in life, he was not only a mentor to me but he became my friend when I was having issues in life.

From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank my personal trainer, Hazli, for having to tolerate all my excuses, pushing me and making sure I move along and be honest with myself and my body and also Paul, Founder of Fitness Tutor for finding the perfect personal trainer for me. Six years ago I had a serious accident, hit by a car on my bicycle with 3 fractures at vertebrae and lots of internal bruising and soft tissue damage.

I am 50+ where everyone said, inclusive Doctors, that at this age it’s not much we can do.

For years I went through various treatments, hydro therapy, physio therapy, acupuncture, sports massage, Pilates, you name it, I tried it. It all helped a little bit, but I was still stuck with a stiff and painful left shoulder and right hip area until by chance I met Dylan Huan.

Dylan works with a wide variety of methods.

He uses the Matrix method, resistance training with weights, Swiss ball (Mediball).

Some of the exercises are a combination of Yoga and Pilates.

So there is never a dull moment.

With his professional guidance and motivation, after only about six month my shoulder feels good again. I’m now also more toned and fat turned into muscle, I wish I’d met him a long time ago.

My back-pains are all but gone, only in a very minor way as compared before

In summary, I consider myself in great shape now since I met Dylan who helped me with his methods to get well.

With Dylan’s professional skills we’ve proven those people wrong that gave up on me. With professional guided training and determinacy, the human body is able to repair damage to a certain extend without drugs.

Kind regards

I chanced upon Paul Kuck's Fitness Tutor website in August 2005, when I was surfing the net, looking for ways to reduce my bodyfat%.

I have tried dieting (Atkins) and jogging (two half-marathons last year - the Army Half-Marathon 2004 and the Standard Chartered Half-Marathon 2004, plus weekly jogs on my own) to lose weight and body fat. Both methods worked, but were not something that I could sustain.

During our first meeting, Paul asked me several questions to determine my objectives and listened attentively to my answers, assessed my level of fitness, and tailored a program to meet my objectives.

The basic approach was:

[1] Some guidance on good eating habits (basic guidelines, nothing drastic...)

[2] Some aerobic exercise to burn some extra calories

[3] Some weight training to replace some fat with muscle and increase my metabolic rate.

We set realistic targets that were achievable with moderate effort on my part, and adjusted as we went along.

During the ten week Body Transformation Program (BTP), I pigged out twice (ice-creams, steaks etc - both my wife and I had birthday's that fell within the 10-week program), and caught a cold once (causing me to skip one training session). Each time, Paul was very encouraging and adjusted the training program appropriately to keep me on track.

The net result is listed below:

  • Overall bodyweight (kg) fell from 70.3 to 62.8

  • BMI fell from 27.1 to 24.2

  • Waist (inches) decreased from 39 to 33

  • Bodyfat% fell from 29.1 to 19.1

  • Body Fat Weight (kg) fell from 20.45 to 11.8

  • Fat-free Weight (kg) increased from 49.85 to 51

I have not had my bodyfat% lower than 20% for years! Even when I was running 2.4 kms in 11 minutes.

I am very happy with the results of Paul's training. The training sessions were challenging but enjoyable, with Paul ever ready to answer all my questions about each exercise I was doing, what it was supposed to achieve, etc.

At the end of the BTP course, Paul has set me up with a instructions on how to maintain my fitness on my own.

The key features of Paul's BTP that I really like are:

[1] Paul himself - Paul is a very pleasant person who is enthusiastic about his profession. He is not pushy, but rather encourages you to achieve your own goals. He is soft-spoken and extremely patient in answering any and all questions that you might have.

[2] The three-pronged approach of aerobics, weights, and being sensible with food - None of the three pieces felt particularly difficult, but together, they were highly effective in achieving the results I wanted.

[3] The "personal" element of having a Personal Trainer - At no time did I feel that I was being offered a choice from a simplistic pre-set menu of exercises. Every exercise set was tailored, not only to my initial fitness assessment, but also to how I felt during each session. This helped a great deal in keeping me motivated.

Overall, Paul's BTP has been a very positive experience for me and I am confident that I will be able to maintain a good level of fitness going forward.

I would recommend Paul's BTP to anyone who wanted to get fit, shed unhealthy bodyfat and feel re-energised. I am confident that, under Paul's guidance, you will be able to achieve your goals.

PS: I just completed the Standard Chartered Half-Marathon 2005. My time improved from an embarrassing 2hrs 46mins last year to a credible 2hrs 18mins this year.

To everyone who wants a positive change!

I was an extremely fat person 6 years back (120 kg)...with a waist size of 46 inches. I was too desperate to lose weight and finally managed to lose more than 70 kg (within couple of months )... as my weight dropped to 48kg.

I was happy of course but I didn't lose weight in a healthy way. I over exercised ( Ran on the treadmill daily for hours ) and took weight losing pills. Even my best friend couldn't recognise me. My self confidence was sky high... but I went through lots of trouble (Side effects!!). I was suffering from anorexia , depression and insonmia for 3 years. I was even exempted from the army as my condition was bad. I told myself that this situation was getting nowhere and I forced myself to get up from the chair and start some fitness program.

I got the idea to do bodybuilding and be healthy when I kept on watch wrestling on TV. I started weight lifting but that was going nowhere too as I didn't have any knowledge. ( it's not just about lifting weights. There's more to it ). I didn't know what amount of weight to use and how frequent I should train each muscle group.

I came across Paul when I was surfing the web on the look for personal trainers. I e-mailed a few trainers but decided to choose Paul as my personal trainer.

My first session was at toa payoh where I met Paul at 7am when the gym opened. He taught me basic stretching, warm up and then went on to my most  favourite part, which was the weights.

He made me lift lighter weights first to improve on my fitness level. As session and weeks passed, the weights i used to lift were like a breeze to me and I managed to pump much heavier weights.

I could feel my muscles growing as certain t-shirts I wore got tighter. The best part was, He didn't force me to do lots of sets and many reps. He trained me with reasonable amount of sets and reps and my muscles & strength were growing!

He is a very good motivator. When he was training me, My discipline level was also at the peak. No junk food at and I after work out one day, he brought me to a  nearby NTUC and told me what I should consume!

By training with him, I got so involved in fitness that I wanted to become a trainer myself and am taking up BEC course now.

I used to train with my brother and I guided him with the training method Paul taught me. Even my brother who has a very high metabolic rate put on noticeable muscle mass in just 2 months! This shows that Paul is very well versed with what he's doing.

I learnt (and still am learning ) a lot from him.....eg: different training techniques, frequency, nutrition etc. All i can say is that Paul can really bring that change to your physique when you train with him. Your knowledge on fitness improves, self  confidence improves, health improves and of coz your body improves!

And to Paul, Thanx a lot for guiding me all out whenever I needed your help man! I can always count on you man!

Thanx a lot dude!

I sign up with Fitness Tutor's Body Transformation Program with the goal of losing weight and sculpting my body and was introduced Alan to be my trainer. His extensive knowledge about fitness and nutrition is apparent during our 1st meeting. He takes the time to understand what I want to work on, and creates a personalized plan that will accommodate my limitations/preferences and yet still get me to achieve my goals.

Alan has this energy and dedication to his clients. Each session started out with a routine warm up and then he would mix up the work out to challenge and surprise the body. He pushes me to my limit and challenges me; but his spirit and energy makes every session fun and creative! He makes my time at the gym much more efficient. I won't waste time on machines that don't help me meet my goals or find myself not knowing where to start. I would leave each session feeling so good! Do you know that feeling when your body has worked hard and you're tired but you feel strong because you had a good work out? I love that feeling!

I am also able to incorporate some of Alan's exercises into my own routine outside of our sessions. He answered questions about nutrition, gave me some suggestions on how to make healthier food choices and emphasized the importance of the balance between training and nutrition.

I have lost considerable inches and some pounds, and have learnt that in building muscles I appear smaller and more feminine. With proper strengthening and stretching exercises, I now have perfect posture too. I have received compliments from many of my friends, and everyone keeps asking me what I do to tone my arms, I just say "Alan Lee from Fitness Tutor”. J

Alan taught me the importance of taking care of myself and guided me inviting and embracing fitness into my life as a lifestyle, not just another task! I reached my fitness goal and I live a healthier lifestyle. I feel good about where I am right now, and know that Alan made it happen for me.

In fact, I’m so pleased with the results that I have signed up for another10-week program. Now, I'm looking forward to setting new goals and achieving them with Alan's guidance. He has turned fitness into an achievable goal for me. Thanks, Alan!

Paul sets high standards that he expects his trainers to adhere to. He places equal emphasis on both the technical aspects of fitness training as well as client servicing skills. While the management style may be somehow authoritarian at times, it certainly helps in instilling discipline and also provided a good training environment for trainers to develop professionally in these aspects.

Paul also demonstrates tremendous passion in all aspects of wellness and fitness. He believes in providing clients with they need, tailoring programs that addresses the fitness objectives of each individual clients. With this approach, we are trained to be results-driven, and have therefore generally been able to help our clients achieve improvements within a reasonable time frame.

He does not adopt fitness fads or gimmicks to induce clients, he will r
